New Born Session

New Born / April 24, 2021

I would love nothing more than to be your newborn’s first photographer, capturing all of their newness. This time is so fleeting, newborns change daily. Capturing this time allows you to freeze these precious moments in time, to have and to cherish for your lifetime. I have been trained in the art of newborn posing, this has given me extensive knowledge in baby safety and soothing techniques. Your baby will be safe and comfortable throughout the entire session

All newborn sessions take place in my studio. I also offer in hospital sessions within the first 48 hours of baby’s life, these sessions are available upon request. If needed, I can also travel to your home for New Born Session basis your request

Upon booking your session, we will have a pre-session consultation either in person, on the phone, or through email. This will help me learn more about your style preferences and vision for your newborn session. From there I will get to work collecting props, and designing set-ups to bring this vision to life within my style of portraiture. The studio is full of a multitude of knits, headbands, a beautiful couture newborn wardrobe and props galore. It is best to reserve your session as early as possible – most clients contact me once they see two double lines on the pregnancy test.

During the session, you are welcome to sit back and relax & all the job is of mine focusing upon baby. My goal is for you to feel at home and rest while I work my magic. Depending on the newborn session chosen, newborn sessions last approximately 1-3 hours, leaving plenty of time for feedings and soothing baby as needed.

NEWBORN SAFETY —>
Newborn safety is of utmost importance to me, as I’m sure it is to you.

Your newborn photographer is not ‘just’ a photographer. This person will be a caregiver and handler for your precious brand new baby for 3-4 hours. This kind of photography is quite different from family and wedding photography… from the extra warm environment in the studio, to the patience required to nurture and soothe baby, and ultimately to the importance of newborn safety and experience with newborn posing.

Just like professional wedding photography, newborn photography is an art and requires more than just talent. Special training, equipment and experience set photographers apart. Hence the investment for a qualified newborn photographer is worth every penny.

Below are some Q&A regarding Newborn Photoshoot

When to book your session?

As soon as possible! I will pencil your due date in my calendar and when you give birth, just give me a call so we can schedule a time that is best for you. Most sessions are complete within 2-3 hours time, but I don’t want to rush you or baby! I am honored and privileged to celebrate this momentous occasion with you and yours.

How do I book a session when I’m not sure when baby will be born?
That’s easy, let me know your due date and we will reserve it ensuring an opening when baby arrives. Once baby is born, you would let me know as soon as possible (ideally within 48 hours after giving birth) and we will select a session date and time. I like to photograph baby between 5-18 days old. I typically book 1 – 2 months in advance, so if you are interested in a newborn portrait session, please inquire while you are pregnant. Already delivered? No problem. I try to leave openings on my calendar for last minute bookings.

Do you offer any discounts?
It is not part of my policies to offer discounts by request or to negotiate pricing. However, from time to time you can find some special offers on my social media (Facebook/Instagram) page. The pricing is not for the work you see but it is mainly for the skill that I execute

What do I need to bring? Do you provide the props?
You do not need to bring a thing, well besides baby. I have a beautiful collection of couture newborn clothing, knit wraps, headbands, hats and props.

Why do newborn sessions cost so much and why are you so expensive? I see other photographers charging half as much as you.
My pricing is based on many factors, but rest assured I have thought long and hard about pricing. At the end what matters is quality & skill. My studio is fully stocked with all the beautiful items you see in the portfolio images. All those different blankets, baskets, backdrops, cute hats and headbands, wraps, and unique props are all in the storage room waiting for your baby! Many times you can see the difference between photographers in the lighting, posing, and quality of the images on their websites. I pride myself in being able to do more than just take a picture – I am capturing your babies newness in the photographs I take as well as creating timeless keepsakes of your family. My goal for my clients is that you leave not just with images that sit in a drawer, but beautiful albums, artwork and prints for your walls that will last generations.

I am sure, When you choose Cozy Shots, you are choosing an experienced photographer, you will not be sorry you invested in this experience and the quality of my work.
